The multi-platform wallet released an update today for its app, allowing users the option of storing Dash in their wallet. The Jaxx wallet is known for its versatility across platforms, as it enables users to maintain a consistent experience managing their digital funds across iOS mobile and tablets, Android mobile and tablets, Windows, Linux, and Mac. It also supports a browser plugin for both Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.
Jaxx already supported Bitcoin, Ethereum, and the now-defunct DAO. The Dash integration seems like the logical next step to a wallet seeking to increase cross-platform cross-currency dominance.
Dash Integration Added Because Of Overwhelming Community Demand
Dash’s inclusion into the Jaxx platform came because of popular demand, as the cryptocurrency was by far the most sought for integration after the initial three supported. Anthony Di Iorio,
CEO of Decentral, the company behind Jaxx, said this of the demand for Dash:
A MONTH AGO, WE ASKED OUR COMMUNITY WHAT CRYPTOCURRENCY THEY WANTED INTEGRATED NEXT AND THE CLEAR WINNER WAS DASH. WE RECEIVED AN OVERWHELMING AMOUNT OF RESPONSES, SO WE JOINED WITH THEIR DEVELOPMENT TEAM TO EFFECT THE INTEGRATION. THIS HAS BEEN AN EXCITING PROJECT FOR BOTH ORGANISATIONS.
The latest integration in what promises to be a wave of adoption
Inclusion into the Jaxx platform is the latest in a rush of adoption by cryptocurrency platforms. In October, popular Bitcoin wallet provider Mycelium plans to add Dash support to its platform.
Despite a recent drop, Dash experienced a significant growth in price in recent weeks, especially when measured against the rest of the top seven cryptocurrencies. This, combined with increased support across platforms, as well as merchant point-of-sale integrations, could push the surging cryptocurrency even further this year.
